            what has been going on!

At the end of the summer term (2009) our

children held a St Patrick's "Got Talent"

competition. The children entered qualifying

rounds and each class voted for their

competition finalists. The final competition

was fantastic and the quality of the children's

performances amazed us all. We had singing,

dancing, comedy acts, musicians, and a

thoroughly entertaining afternoon (well

supported by parents and friends.)

The judges voted "Street Dude" (Lewis Armstrong),

as the winning act -Lewis choreographed

all his own dance steps and was superb.

All entrants were awarded with certificates,

second and third place acts were awarded

medals AND Lewis received the first ever

St Patrick's "Got Talent" trophy. The, now

annual, shield will be kept in school for all

to see!

February 2004 marked the end of our Centenary year and to celebrate we decided to make our own school crucifix. With the help of a local artist, the children spent two months working on the 5ft crucifix. They produced mosaics, stencils, sketches and paintings to depict the old and new school buildings, the four seasons, shamrocks and Elland town centre. The reverse shows images of all the children and staff, drawn by the children. What the children have created is truly unique and symbolic - the four seasons show how the school continues to blossom year after year and the faces of the children represent the current generation. The crucifix is now mounted in the school hall and hopefully will be enjoyed  by others for another 100 years to come.
